Before, it was normal to see only white plastic windows. Today architects broadly employ colours when working with plastic windows and doors and the available palette is truly wide-ranging and diverse in nature. One can enjoy selection beyond just wooden windows and doors as plastic ones can also be coloured and not only to go with the colour of the façade or roof but to stand as a feature of the exceptional exterior or interior of your home in their own right. The possibility to choose colours for plastic windows and doors is not just for architects and it enables implementing different designs of modern architecture. The broad choice of hues will satisfy even the most demanding tastes: you are free to choose any colour you find fitting, from noble white to fabulous silver.

Pietų Megrame, JSC makes coloured windows using coloured GEALAN ACRYLCOLOR profiles manufactured using unique methods. It has been more than quarter of a century since German company GEALAN started producing unique coloured profiles for plastic windows and doors. Having analysed different PVC profile manufacture technologies - varnishing, lamination, and extrusion - the choice fell on the extrusion method where white PVC profile is poured over with a thick layer of coloured coating - acrylate (PMMA). You can choose any colour you like, whether from a standard palette or otherwise.

For those who enjoy all things natural we would like to offer wood imitation films or GEALAN profiles laminated with coloured film bearing wood texture patterns.

To make your choice, contact your service manager who will introduce you to available patterns and colour palettes.

ACRYLCOLOR

Coloured Pietų Megrame windows made of unique GEALAN ACRYLCOLOR profiles lend any building a bespoke feel. Coloured ACRYLCOLOR windows make even the most unusual designs possible while taking into account regional architectural peculiarities. The palette of hues will satisfy even the most demanding tastes: you are free to choose any colour you find fitting, from noble white to fabulous silver. High ACRYLCOLOR quality standard is marked with the RAL sign of compliance. Coloured GEALAN ACRYLCOLOR profiles are made using a dedicated coextrusion technology which melds white PVC base with a layer of coloured acrylate. External coloured acrylate coating is resistant to mechanical damage and negative environmental exposure. Silky matte coating is non-porous and so it doesn't gather dust or dirt, it doesn't flake or come off, nor does it require painting. ACRYLCOLOR windows are easy to maintain. ACRYLCOLOR windows do not fade and you will not see any changes in colour for long decades.

What are the ACRYLCOLOR profiles?

A coloured layer of acrylate is melded onto the surface of PVC profiles at the time of extrusion. The PVC base is welded together with the coloured acrylate layer into a homogeneous mass. The acrylate coating the PVC profiles is resistant to negative environmental exposure. Level, non-porous acrylate coated profile surfaces do not absorb grease and are easy to maintain. Windows profiles coated with coloured acrylate do not fade in the sun.

Coextrusion technology

Coloured GEALAN ACRYLCOLOR profiles are made by means of coextrusion. During the thermal process white profile base is heated with hot metal and melded together with poured over acrylate into a homogeneous mass. Coloured acrylate layer is applied to the surface of a white profile. This way the coextruder produces what is now a two-colour ACRYLCOLOR profile.

The coextrusion process occurs as follows:
  1. Melted white PVC mass is fed into the main extruder.
  2. The coextruder supplies additional melted mass of coloured acrylate.
  3. The two components are melded together inseparably into a homogeneous mass.
  4. Acrylate surfaces are polished producing a level and non-porous surface.

Advantages of ACRYLCOLOR

External acrylate layer is twice as strong and resistant as the PVC. This is why windows coated with coloured acrylate are more resistant to climate changes and sun rays. Hard acrylate surfaces are difficult to scratch. It is level and non-porous and so does not absorb grease very much and is easy to wash using regular household cleaners. The acrylate is melded with the PVC base into a homogeneous base which is why the acrylate layer will not come off or flake. Acrylate coated windows and doors require no painting.

ACRYLCOLOR longevity

GEALAN has been producing coloured profiles for plastic windows with the help of its unique coextrusion technology for more than 30 years. ACRYLCOLOR profile colours do not fade and remain the same for long decades. ACRYLCOLOR profiles satisfy high quality, functionality, and design requirements.

Unusual surface structure

The ACRYLCOLOR layer is polished which produces a level and non-porous surfaces that do not gather dust or dirt. Acrylate coating does not flake or come off, not does it require painting. ACRYLCOLOR windows are easy to maintain. They do not fade and you will not see any changes in colour for long decades.

Scratch free

Hard surface of coloured acrylate are difficult to scratch which is why ACRYLCOLOR windows can be considered as rigid construction elements. 0.5 mm thick layer of acrylate is thicker than and layer of paint or varnish.

No flaking

The PVC base is welded together with the coloured acrylate layer into a homogeneous mass. The coating doesn't flake or come off.

Persistent colour

Acrylate is a particularly persistent and light material. It is used in production of car lights which is a strong indication of this material's reliability and resistance. Rear car lights are strong indication of acrylate's resistance to northern climate factors.

Strong resistance to negative environmental exposure

From the outside windows are subject to different weather conditions. They have to withstand both heat and cold. Coloured and white window surfaces have to be resistant to sun rays. This is why we choose weather-resistant acrylate for production of coloured profiles. That this materials has been used for production of car lights for many years testifies to its resistance to negative environmental exposure. Window and door profiles coated with coloured acrylate are resistant to constantly changing weather conditions and do not fade in the sun. These windows and doors remain the same for long decades. ACRYLCOLOR windows are also suitable for very cold climate zones.
