ENTRANCE DOORS
Pietų Megrame PVC entrance doors come in various shapes, assembly options, colors and safety levels. They will not only stand out by their looks and excellent thermal insulation qualities, but will keep unwanted guests out. Our entrance doors are sturdy, resistant to the difference between outdoor and indoor conditions, and do not deform. No doubt, they are impermeable, keeping the warmth inside and the rain and wind outside.
Types of doors
You can choose different types of doors depending on your needs: opening outwards or inwards, right or left, single-door, double-door, or joined fixed frame structures. Double doors usually have two leaves one of which has a handle, while the other is fixed at the top and bottom with latches, which open the leaf when released.
We produce both single-leaf and double-leaf fixed frame doors.
Door design
The door design has nearly no limits. The leaf can feature a glazing unit or door fillers, which come in various colors and shapes, and are known for excellent thermal and sound insulation qualities. Combinations of glass and fillers can create a unique look, which will become a signature of your home.
An apartment or a house door is like a gate into your fortress. The human nature prefers locking things up and the more locks, the better. Although people used to feel very reserved about using glass décor elements due to safety reasons, modern technology, alarm and monitoring systems enable to design and manufacture doors with lots of glass, which create a more elegant and lighter look.
The main parts of any door, just like in case of windows, are: the frame and the leaf, the glazing unit and fittings. Thermal insulation, strength and safety depend heavily on their characteristics.
FRAME AND SASH
Pietų Megrame produces exterior and balcony door frames from S 8000 and S 9000 profiles, manufactured by GEALAN, a well-known and reliable PVC profile producer. Door frames are more conductive to heat and sound, compared to other structures of the building, with the majority of sound coming in and heat lost through their leaf and glass gaskets, and installation and connection seams. Impermeableness and heat insulation defines the key characteristics of PVC windows, which, in turn, are determined by a range of structural solutions for door frame and sash profiles. Therefore, the door characteristics depend on the following:
- – frame profile width and geometry;
- – number of inner chambers and their configuration;
- – proper use of steel reinforcement;
- – number of gaskets and their characteristics;
- – possibility of using glazing units of certain thickness;
- – how deep the glazing units are inserted into the profile;
- – proper and quality materials used for the installation.
PIETŲ MEGRAME S 8000 ENTRANCE DOOR
Pietų Megrame S 8000 exterior door frame and sash profile system is designed in a way enabling the use of wide-profile reinforcement to achieve excellent strength and stability indices. 74 mm wide internal partitions and their arrangement enable to use 30% stronger steel reinforcement. The bore hole for the lock is cut namely in the steel profile. Welded corner joints are used to prevent sash distortions and to ensure corner stability. A solid connection between the frame and the threshold are ensured with special brackets. A large selection of components enables to produce a door of various configurations, types and design.
PIETŲ MEGRAME S 9000 ENTRANCE DOOR
Pietų Megrame S 9000 entrance door is strong, safe, resistant to weather conditions, and has very good heat and sound insulation qualities. Five internal chambers in the door frame and sash, and the 82.5 m installation depth ensure exceptional thermal insulation. Thermal indices are also improved by the possibility of using a glazing unit of up to 52 mm thickness, and, when using STV® technology of glazing unit bonding along the entire perimeter of the sash – even up to 54 mm glazing units or sash panels. Large reinforced chambers, precise steel reinforcement shape, and corner fastenings contribute to the excellent statics of the S 9000 door. Brush-shaped sealing gaskets at different levels ensure optimal impermeableness.
We use several GEALAN S 9000 profile options for door frames and leaves: Classic and Design. The flat surface of the door sash, manufactured from S 9000 Design profile looks not only light and elegant, but also offers a wide range of finishing possibilities, while maintaining excellent thermal insulation properties.
Pietų Megrame S 9000 entrance doors are sturdy, resistant to deformations, and comply with high safety requirements. Durable and low-maintenance entrance door will serve you for a long time without any trouble.
ENTRANCE AND BALCONY DOOR THRESHOLD
On a visual level, a threshold marks the line between the inside and the outside. However, that’s not all. A threshold covers the seams, works as the lower stopper of the door sash, and also helps to ensure heat and sound insulation, keeping the wind and rain outside. All of this counts if you want to create a cosy, safe, and convenient living environment.
We used GEALAN thresholds, made of stable and heat-insulating PVC and aluminium composite. A well-balanced PVC and aluminium composite ensures threshold characteristics that are important to achieve high energy efficiency. This combination acts as an excellent heat barrier even in the strut area, achieving very good thermal insulation and reducing the risk of condensation and thermal bridges, which contribute to the loss of heat. A low, barely 20 mm threshold will prevent the heat loss through the lower part of the exterior or balcony door, keeping water out even during rain showers.
GLAZING UNITS
Glass takes up the largest area of any window structure, thus playing a crucial role in important technical parameters of the entire window: heat and sound insulation, protection from wind and rain. It is also the part of the window, which provides your home with sunlight. Therefore, picking a suitable glazing unit is very important in each case.
Glazing units differ in the number of glass sheets and the type of glass used. Glass panes in 2-4 pane units are separated by aluminium or plastic spacer bars, while the space between the glass panes can be filled with noble gas thus improving thermal insulation indices of the window up to several times.
The characteristics of the glazing unit also depend on the gaps between the glass panes, and the type of glass used. Double pane glazing unit with selective glass (coated in a very thin layer of metal or metal oxides) is great for apartment building windows, as premises in apartment buildings are consistently heated. Private homes make a better use of triple pane glazing units. If your private house or apartment building is located on a busy city street, we recommend glazing units with sound insulation. The sound insulation qualities depend on the thickness of the glass, the gap between the glass panes, and the type of glass used. The thickness of glass panes in a sound-insulating glazing unit should be 16-20 mm with a 16-20 mm distance between the panes. Also, at least one of the panes should be coated with a sound-insulating film.
Pietų Megrame uses the following glazing units:
- – standard;
- – thermal-insulating;
- – with sun control coating;
- – increased safety;
- – decorative and structural glazing units.

COLOR DOORS
Examples of windows used as the means of aesthetic expression can be found in nearly all buildings. They give character and complement or become the distinctive details of the building’s architectural style. Architectural style is complemented not only by the shape, division, and décor of the doors and windows, but also their color.
Colored door and window frames make the building unique. The color can visually increase or decrease the window in the general context of the façade. For example, dark colors make the windows look bigger, as it is closest to the color of the glass during the day time. White or light grey frames highlight the window making it look smaller due to the contrast between the frame and the glass. Dark window frames are currently very popular and they certainly look luxurious, but customers fear the color may eventually fade. Profiles, used for door and window frames, manufactured by Pietų Megrame, can be not only white, but also colorful, coated with GEALAN-acrylcolor® acrylic, and laminated with decorative films, featuring all kinds of multi-colored patterns.
Colored GEALAN-acrylcolor® door and window frames
Dark window frames are currently very popular and they certainly look luxurious, but customers fear the color may eventually fade. Pietų Megrame offers colored windows, manufactured of unique colored GEALAN-acrylcolor® profiles. Their color is obtained during a thermal process, when the base of the profile is homogeneously fused with melted colored acrylic. This means that the plastic is not simply painted – the color is obtained by casting colored acrylic on the profile. Compared to the usual painted profiles, these door and window frames show more resistance, durability and maintain their novel appearance for years without peeling off, flaking or fading.
The 0.5 mm surface layer of the colored GEALAN-acrylcolor® PVC window frames are more durable and show better resistance to heat or changing weather conditions – the color stays unchanged for many years even under constant direct sunlight. Acrylic surface is very smooth, preventing accumulation of dust and other dirt. Window frames coated with colored acrylic are easy to clean, always look like new, their surface doesn’t flake, peel, or scratch, and any transportation, installation or finishing accidents can be easily polished.
This PVC frame coating method has been used for more than 40 years has really proven its exceptional properties in practice. You can enjoy the deep and bright GEALAN-acrylcolor® colors for decades, as they practically don’t fade. The colored windows of Vilnius University Hospital Santaros Klinikos, installed more than 20 years ago, make a perfect example.
GEALAN-acrylcolor® resistance is relevant only on the window or exterior side, while the interior side can be white or laminated in any color you like.

Matte decorative films create a particularly high-quality and elegant look. Glossy decorative films look modern and are easy to maintain. Classic wood imitation films and their surface texture create an impression of natural wood, combining the positive contemporary PVC product qualities with the looks of wooden doors and windows.
Colored Pietų Megrame door and window frames can be laminated with the same or different films on the inside and outside, coated with particularly resistant colored acrylic on the exterior, and laminated with a film to complement your interior style on the inside.
